Wir empfehlen diesen Wein zu geräucherten Vorspeisen, gebratenem Fisch und alles Gebackenem (Schnitzel, Backhendl & Co). Er passt aber auch zu delikaten Fischvorspeisen, Meeresfrüchten, Gourmet Salaten, einem klassischen Brathendl, Pasta mit Fisch, Spaghetti Carbonara und vielen Pizzatypen.

KREMSTAL DAC, FURTH

The village of Furth is favoured by a variety of microclimatic conditions. These allow the vegetation to breathe, bringing the delicately spicy and cool air of the Dunkelsteiner Forest together with warm Pannonian air masses and the natural humidity of the Danube region. These features are complemented by a wide array of geologic variants, ranging from gravelly and sandy soil to loess and loam, all the way to weathered primeval rock and thus - in interplay with the different grape varieties - yield an enormous stylistic diversity of wines. This is an ideal setting for Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. We produce middleweight wines from the village appellation "Furth", vinified in stainless steel tank, with ca. 12.5% vol. alcohol.

TASTING NOTES

Ripe vineyard peaches in the nose, supported by mineral notes with a whiff of lemon zest. Racy and refreshing on the palate, with delicate notes of apricot; very well balanced.

A very delicate expression in the first three years after the harvest, but can be cellared for up to ten years.

We recommend this wine for smoked starters, fried fish and baked meat or poultry (Schnitzel, Backhendl & Co.). It also goes very well with delicate fish appetizers, seafood, gourmet salads, classic roasted chicken, pasta with fish, Spaghetti Carbonara and many varieties of pizza.

Mittleres Gelbgrün, Silberreflexe. Feine gelbe Pfirsichfrucht, zart nach Maracuja, etwas Blütenhonig im Hintergrund. Komplex, weiße Steinobstnuancen, feine Fruchtsüße, elegant und anhaltend, wirkt bereits sehr zugänglich.

The Silberbichl is a broad terrace vineyard perched above the Danube river, and comprised of „old Danube” gravel and weathered stone that are covered with loess. This vineyard was documented as a site already in 1562. The name „Silber“ (silver) probably comes from “Glimmerschiefer” (mica-schist) found here in large pieces; „Bichl” is a variation of „Bühel”, a hill. This southeast-facing site lies within the boundaries of the wine-growing region Wachau. Riesling is planted here because it is ideally suited to the soil. The best selection of Riesling Silberbichl was hand-picked on 9th November 2016.

TASTING NOTES

Pure aromas of pear and peach. Pleasantly fresh and fruity with a fine acidic interplay. A mineral-driven Riesling with a long finish.

These vineyards comprise steep, southeast-facing terraces that are close to the Danube River and hence exposed to wind and temperature extremes. The crystalline bedrock consists of Gföhler gneiss, mica schist and, in some areas, amphibolite. The soils are hard, stony and largely non-calcareous.
The best selection was hand-picked on 11th November 2016.

Tasting notes

Intense Riesling-bouquet, white peach. Great structure with mineralic depth; stony – fine saltness, concentrated texture, long and bright finish.
